Okrug Gornji

Okrug is situated on the west side of the Island of Ciovo.
The island of Ciovo is connected to mainland by a bridge.
Okrug Gornji consists of several places: Saldun ( nearest to Trogir), Mavarcica bay, Businci, Milicevo and old village.

Okrug Gornji is on the island or no?

Okrug Gornji is situated on Ciovo which is an island connected by bridge with the mainland. So basically it is an artificial pelinsula. You can travel by car to Okrug.
There is a boat line Okrug Gornji - Trogir Center. The Boat goes from "Copacabana" beach to Trogir center and back every 30 minutes.

Which part of Okrug should I chose?

There are no rules, but we can give you some hints.
If you are without car, but you would like to have one to visit National Parks etc.  you can rent it in any rent-a-car, or simply contact us and We will assist you.
If you are looking for peace and quietness you should rent apartments in Mavarcica/Bušinci bay.

If you don't want a car; Milicevo, Saldun and all locations next to Copacabana beach are a very good choice for you, because you can use boats or walk to Trogir Center.
If you like diving or want to take diving essons, we suggest Mavarcica bay since diving school is there.

General Info

Okrug Gornji counts almost 5000 inhabitants and the number increases with tourists during the summer. There are around 10 restaurants, 3-4 markets, open market with fresh vegetables, post office, bank, tourist board, fitness centre, tennis courts, diving school, water sports and more that Okrug Gornji can offer you. It is favourable destination for families with children since it is offering nice beaches adapted for kids. It is very quite and ideal choice for families with kids.
